San Simón Fiddle
What is it?
A meeting of traditional music especially aimed at young people between 7 and 25 years old, where musical activities are combined with other leisure and free time activities.
The musical activity is mainly aimed at promoting the use of stringed instruments within traditional music, in order to discover another way of relating to their instrument, which allows them to enjoy making music regardless of their technical level.
Who is it aimed at?
It’s recommended to have at least one year of knowledge of the instrument.
A group for beginners can be organized exclusively for members. In this case, the association will lend the instrument if necessary.
Four groups will be established according to levels: initiation, elementary, medium and advanced. The youth group will be older, for students between 18 and 25 years old.
Making the most of the improvisational ability of the participants is one of the main goals we pursue with this violin camp, which will discover a new and fantastic musical world unknown to them until now.
In our summer course, the music is transmitted orally, without sheet music and sharpening the children’s musical retention capacity, who after a few days on the island will be able to learn a melody in a few minutes.
Free time activities (coordinated by specialized instructors) are complemented with musical activities, making learning more entertaining and enjoyable.
Thus, our proposal does not intend to be exclusively a music course, but to unite fundamental objectives: the musical and human training of its members.
Nothing better than seeing how it went to know what it is and why you should attend San Simón Fiddle…
